Notes about this committee/group

  1. To promote the School of Biology to prospective students by:
    • Marketing- producing promotional information for the School of Biology (e.g. leaflets, booklets, websites, videos).
    • School liaison- improve communication with primary and secondary schools, co-ordinate Visiting Days and develop activities that will encourage visits to and from school pupils and teachers.
      Liaison with both the University Admissions Office and with the Director of Teaching and School Admissions Officer are an essential part of these activities.

  2. To promote the teaching and research activities of the School of Biology to a wider audience by:
    • Providing a link with the University Press Office to encourage publicity for the School of Biology.
    • Supporting participation in exhibitions and events e.g. National Science Week, public exhibitions, and shows that raise the profile of the School of Biology.

  3. To advise the Head of School and the School Management Group on external relations issues.

  4. To hold meetings as necessary and at least once per semester.
